British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM

In partnership with the British Council, Aston University is offering Three 12-months scholarships for female students from Malaysia or India, from an eligible country, studying on an eligible programme. The scholarships have been created with the aim to help address the under-representation of women in STEM.

UK Research Council awards for Home/EU students

UK Research Councils have allocated awards or provide the College with funding for specific activity, and full awards (for UK nationals and EU nationals who have taken their first degree in the UK and are normally ordinarily resident within the EEA) cover maintenance and ‘home’ rate fees. Otherwise, EU nationals are normally eligible for fee support only.

Graduate Student Scholarship – IEEE Photonics Society

The IEEE Photonics Society established the Graduate Student Scholarship Program to provide scholarships to outstanding Society student members pursuing graduate education within the Society field of interest. Students should normally be in their penultimate year of study at time of application.
Up to $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded, based on research excellence and contributions to the Society’s publications and conferences. The geographic distribution of the awards will take into account the student membership in each of the main geographical regions:
Americas: Regions 1 – 7 & 9
Europe/Mid-East/Africa: Region 8
Asia/Pacific: Region 10
Eligibility:  Scholarship applicants must be an active IEEE Photonics Society student member pursuing a graduate education within the Photonics Society field of interest.Students should normally be in their penultimate year of study at the time of applying. (i.e. those applying in May 2022 would normally expect to defend their these is during 2023).
